Everything happens for a reason. I normally don’t go to the school on Fridays. I don’t have school and if I want to get internet it is much easier to go to the office that is right down the street rather than the school that is 20 minutes away on a good day. But something wanted me to be there this Friday (March 7).
As soon as I walked into the door I was being called upon. Maria yelled for me, “Sara. Vieni.” She wanted to introduce me to one of the students from last semester that was visiting Rome for her spring break. We started talking and she told me that she had nowhere to stay. I told her that she was more than welcome to stay with us while she is here.
Lauren and I had talked about my kindness being my biggest fault, that I will befriend anyone, but I disagree. I mean, you have to give everyone a chance. Clearly, I wouldn’t have invited her into my home if Maria didn’t vouch for her. But you have to be nice to people. You never know who’s watching you. Correction. You always know who’s watching you. And He wants the best from us all so sometimes I try extra hard to be who He wants me to be.
In the end everything turned out just fine. She didn’t steal anything, was nice, and the punishment for my good deed was she left the place a little messier than she found it and used hella toilet paper and soap. Oh well, no good deed goes unpunished but it also doesn’t go unseen.
